What You’ll Do
- Perform a Variety of Ultrasound Exams
Conduct abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, musculoskeletal, and vascular ultrasound studies with a focus on image quality and diagnostic accuracy. - Operate Imaging Equipment with Precision
Adjust machine settings and utilize best practices to capture high-resolution images tailored to each exam type. - Ensure Patient Comfort and Safety
Guide patients through procedures with care and professionalism, addressing their questions and concerns with empathy. - Collaborate with Medical Teams
Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other care providers to interpret findings and assist in making informed clinical decisions. - Maintain Clear and Accurate Documentation
Enter patient data and imaging reports into the EMR system while ensuring compliance with privacy and regulatory standards. - Follow All Clinical Protocols
Maintain adherence to HIPAA, AIUM, and facility-specific guidelines to ensure safety, confidentiality, and high-quality patient care. - Conduct Equipment Checks
Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure all ultrasound equipment remains in peak condition. - Continue Professional Development
Stay informed on the latest technologies and advancements in sonography through continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
Certification & Licensure:
- Current certification through ARDMS or ARRT(S).
- Licensure in the state of Iowa, if applicable.
Experience & Skills:
- At least 1 year of experience preferred in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and diagnostic ultrasound techniques.
- Technical proficiency with imaging equipment and medical software.
- Clear communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work efficiently in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends or on-call as needed.
