As a Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist, you'll play a key role in the diagnostic process by capturing high-quality images crucial for clinical decision-making. Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, and musculoskeletal exams
- Operate ultrasound equipment accurately and make necessary adjustments for optimal imaging
- Position patients properly while ensuring their comfort and safety
- Collaborate with physicians and other medical staff to review and interpret results
- Document patient data and imaging findings in the EMR system
- Provide patients with clear instructions and address concerns regarding procedures
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety protocols, and internal policies
- Perform routine maintenance checks on ultrasound equipment
- Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and best practices
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field
- Certified by ARDMS or ARRT (S)
- Kentucky state license if required
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare or hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and diagnostic sonography techniques
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility for varied shifts, including weekends and on-call rotations
