Support Life-Saving Surgeries in a Region That Moves at the Speed of Heart
If you're a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) who finds purpose in precision, thrives in high-stakes environments, and seeks a surgical team that operates with both clinical excellence and deep human compassion, this opportunity was made for you. Every day, surgical technologists like you play a vital role behind the scenes of successful operations, and here, that role is deeply respected, valued, and supported.
This full-time Certified Surgical Technologist position offers more than a job; it's a calling within a healthcare system that honors your skillset, nurtures your career development, and welcomes you into a community grounded in purpose, connection, and culture. Whether you're assisting in high-acuity emergency procedures or preparing for a routine operation, you’ll become an indispensable part of a team that works in harmony to deliver outstanding surgical outcomes.
Surgical Technologist Job Responsibilities
As a CST in our surgical department, you will be responsible for preparing operating rooms with meticulous attention to detail. This includes sterilizing and organizing instruments, ensuring all surgical tools and supplies are accounted for, and setting the room according to surgical protocol. Before the patient even arrives, your readiness sets the tone for what’s to come.
During surgical procedures, your role becomes even more critical. You’ll assist the surgeon directly by anticipating their needs, passing instruments swiftly and safely, and helping maintain a sterile field throughout the case. Your hands will be steady, your mind alert, and your focus unshakable. The surgeon may be the one performing the incision, but you are the person ensuring that the environment is safe, seamless, and fully supported.
After each procedure, you’ll participate in closing protocols — cleaning and disinfecting the OR, organizing and reprocessing instruments, and preparing the space for the next operation. In many ways, your attention to detail directly influences the speed and safety of surgical turnover.
Our CSTs are cross-trained in a variety of specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, OB/GYN, and cardiovascular, and we welcome those interested in expanding into additional specialties. This role is fast-paced and highly collaborative, offering both autonomy and interdependence within a multidisciplinary team.
What We’re Looking For in a Surgical Technologist
To be considered for this role, you must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program and certified through the NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or hold a comparable credential. Prior experience in an operating room is a plus, but we also welcome applications from new graduates who demonstrate a readiness to learn, grow, and contribute with confidence and care.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and thrives in a team-oriented environment. You must be able to respond quickly to changing situations, communicate clearly, and carry a high level of accountability in maintaining surgical safety standards. Strong time management, physical stamina, and the ability to multitask are essential.
You will also need to demonstrate a commitment to patient confidentiality, infection control, and regulatory compliance — all pillars of surgical excellence in a hospital setting.
Why You’ll Love This Team — and This Region
Working with us means joining a surgical department that doesn’t just deliver high-quality patient outcomes, but also fosters a culture of mentorship, inclusion, and mutual respect. You’ll be working alongside experienced nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgeons who believe great care starts with a great team. Whether you’re early in your career or have years of experience, you’ll find opportunities for continuing education, cross-training, and leadership development.
This isn’t the kind of workplace where you feel like a number. Here, your voice is heard, your presence is valued, and your growth is prioritized.
Beyond the OR, life in this region offers a rare and refreshing mix of nature, culture, and community. Nestled along a winding bayou in northern Louisiana, this area is steeped in Southern charm and Delta soul. The rhythm here is slower in the best way — allowing space to connect, breathe, and enjoy what truly matters.
You’ll commute past cypress trees and riverbanks, explore walking trails and wildlife preserves, and spend weekends enjoying crawfish boils, music festivals, or simply unwinding on a front porch with neighbors who feel more like family. The cost of living is reasonable, the people are welcoming, and the food is unforgettable.
From open-air farmers’ markets to hidden-gem diners serving gumbo that tastes like home, this is a place where life is flavorful — and deeply felt. Whether you’re raising a family, starting a new chapter, or just seeking a sense of rootedness, this is a region where community still means something.
Career Growth & Advancement Opportunities
As a Surgical Technologist with us, you’ll not only sharpen your clinical skills but also position yourself for advancement. We offer mentorship programs for new grads, preceptor opportunities for experienced CSTs, and leadership tracks for those interested in clinical education or surgical coordination roles. Continuing education is encouraged and supported.
You’ll also have the chance to work across various surgical disciplines, gaining exposure to new procedures and technologies that keep your practice fresh and fulfilling. From robotic-assisted surgery to minimally invasive techniques, our hospital is committed to staying on the cutting edge.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary package based on experience and qualifications, as well as a negotiable signing bonus for eligible candidates. Relocation assistance is available for those moving to the area.
